This weekend on the Hayle estuary.

Although distant i managed to get some reasonable shots of the Spotted Redshank here on the left of a Common Redshank.
 Spotted Redshank.
 Greenshank.
Two of the three Ruff that frequented the estuary over the weekend.
Third bird in flight with Wigeon.
Sorry for more pictures of the Osprey but could not resist . Sunday morning the bird circled the estuary before treating us to a fish catching display although it failed on this attempt it soon got what it came for.

 Sees the fish.
 Stoops.
 Not this time.
 Better have another go.
Patience finally paid off when it caught this fine Grey Mullet.
A flock of thirty Golden Plover circled the estuary Sunday morning but did,nt land.
Good numbers of Teal have started to arrive for the winter.
This fine first winter Yellow Legged Gull dropped in on sunday late morning.

Note the scapular moult is very advanced compared to the same aged Herring Gulls.
Very neat black tail band .

Great bird.
